We all know some of the reasons when a pain in heart strikes but do you know that the reasons may differ between women and men?

Yea that’s a fact, it does not always feel the same in women as it does in men. Women usually don’t get the same classic symptoms of heart attack as men, one of which includes crushing chest pain that radiates down one arm. Heart attack symptoms vary and can certainly happen to women but they may experience vague or even “silent” symptoms that they may miss.

Therefore, there are some of the silent symptoms of heart pain that should not be taken for granted and should take into consideration which is common in women:

1-CHEST PAIN OR DISCOMFORT

Chest pain is considered as the most common sign of heart pain but women experience it in a different way than men. You may be feeling like squeezing o fullness, and the pain can be anywhere in the chest. People usually think that chest pain always occurs on the left side but that’s certainly not true, it can occur on either side. According to cardiologist named Rita Redberg “truly uncomfortable” during a heart pain, it feels like a vise being tightened.”

2-PAIN IN YOUR ARMS, BACK, NECK, OR JAW

These type of pain is observed in women more than men. The pain in these areas can be gradual or sudden and it may wax and wane before becoming intense. It can be so intense that if you are sleeping it can wake you up.

3-STOMACH PAIN

Pain in the stomach usually is very common and people take it for granted as it can be a symptom of heartburn, flu, or a stomach ulcer. But sometimes women usually feel like a severe abdominal pressure that feels like an elephant sitting on your stomach could be one of the signs of pain n heart.

4-SHORTNESS OF BREATH, NAUSEA, OR LIGHTHEADEDNESS

If you are having trouble with breathing for no apparent reason it could also be a reason for pain in heart especially if you have more than one symptoms. According to a cardiologist “It can feel like you have run a marathon, but you didn’t make a move,”.

5-SWEATING

Sweating is very common among women if it feels more like a stress-related sweating than perspiration from exercising or spending time outside then you need to take into consideration. You need to get it checked if this happens as it could be the reason for heart pain.

6-FATIGUE

Some women feel extremely tired even if they have been sitting for a while and not moving much then it could be a reason for heart pain. According to cardiologist “Patients often complain of a tiredness in the chest,” Goldberg says. “They say that they can’t do simple activities, like walk to the bathroom.”

7-GENERAL EPIGASTRIC (UPPER MIDDLE ABDOMEN) DISCOMFORT

Sometimes the pain of heart can emerge due to stomach pain, or pain in the middle of the upper abdomen. Pain in upper abdomen usually feels more like the discomfort of heaviness rather than sharp, stabbing pain, and it tends to persist more than a few minutes.

8-HEARTBURN OR INDIGESTION

Women who have a chance of experiencing heart pain usually have to belch and burping and describe the feeling of indigestion. Along with indigestion, heartburn can also be the reason for heart pain.

9-UPPER BACK PAIN

The upper back is another common location for the spread of the pain from a heart pain. Most commonly, back pain that stems from a heart pain is described as occurring between the shoulder blades.

10-GENERAL MALAISE (VAGUE FEELING OF ILLNESS)

A feeling of being generally unwell or like you are coming down with an illness can accompany a heart pain. This can be described as fatigue or even lightheadedness, with or without fainting.
