Pregnancy is one of the beautiful phases of a woman’s life in which a woman experiences certain changes in your body. These changes are not only occurring in body but also in attitude, emotions, and of course, your priorities and you feel really different about yourself.

This process takes 9 months in which the food you consume plays an essential role as it affects the health of the life which is growing inside you. Therefore, it is necessary to adjust your diet along with all the changes which occur inside your body. Try to make some adjustments to your diet and eliminate the foods which can affect the life which is growing inside you.

1-HIGH MERCURY FISH

Mercury which is present in fish is a highly toxic element. This fish is commonly found in polluted water. Therefore, avoid this high-mercury fish as it is toxic to your immune system, nervous system, and kidneys. Hence, avoid using this high-mercury fish during pregnancy.

2-UNDERCOOKED OR RAW FISH

Undercooked raw fish can cause damage and several infections. Some of the infections affect the mother and can eventually pass on to the unborn baby weak serious, or even fatal.

3-UNDERCOOKED RAW OR PROCESSED MEAT

Undercooked or raw meat should be avoided by pregnant women as it increases the risk of infection from numerous parasites and bacteria. These parasites and bacteria can attack unborn baby causing serve neurological illness which could be blindness and mental retardation.

4-RAW EGGS

Raw eggs should be eliminated from your diet as it can be contaminated with Salmonella. Salmonella is basically an infection that can cause nausea, fever, stomach cramps, to the mother. Hence avoid using these raw eggs.

5-ORGAN MEAT

Organ meat is basically a major source of many nutrients including vitamins B12, iron, vitamin A and copper. However, eating too much of animal-based vitamins should be avoided during pregnancy.

6-CAFFEINE

Pregnant women should not use caffeine and limit it to less than 200mg per day. High intake of caffeine has been shown to restrict fetal growth and it can increase the risk of low birth rate.

7-RAW SPROUTS

Raw sprouts which include radish, alfalfa, mung, bean sprouts could be contaminated with Salmonella. Unfortunately, the bacteria can get into the sprout seeds which is impossible to wash off. Pregnant women should avoid and are advised to avoid raw sprouts as much as possible.

8-UNWASHED PRODUCE

It is advised not to consume unwashed produce as the surface of unpeeled fruits and vegetables could be contaminated with several bacteria and parasites. The bacteria present in these unwashed foods can harm both the baby and the mother.

9-UNPASTEURIZED MILK, CHEESE, AND FRUIT JUICE

There is the possibility that unpasteurized milk, cheese, or juice could contain bacteria which can affect the health of pregnant women. Therefore mother is advised to avoid such unpasteurized foods.

10-ALCOHOL

Pregnant women should avoid drinking alcohol as it increases the risk of miscarriage, stillbirth, and fetal alcohol syndrome.

11-PROCESSED JUNK FOODS

Consuming processed junk food can increase the risk of gestational diabetes, excess weight gain, and other complications.

12-STORE- BOUGHT SALADS

We know that store-bought salads are much convenient but at the same time, it can also be very unhealthy.
